March 29, 2023 – Scotiabank and MacLeod Group will be sponsors for the 2023 Fundy Hospice Gala to be held on Saturday evening, April 29th, at the Digby Pines.
Proceeds from the event will support the efforts of the Atalanta Hospice Society to fund construction of Fundy Hospice, a proposed new residential-style hospice to serve the residents of Annapolis and Digby municipalities. The Atalanta Hospice Society is a registered not-for-profit organization in Nova Scotia.
“Cindy Day will serve as the emcee with Maurice Parker as auctioneer for the evening, which will feature dinner, silent and live auctions, and live music by 14 Wing Jazz Combo,” said Jolene
Buchholz, who is serving as Gala co-chair along with Heather McCormick. “We are so appreciative of the amazing support we are receiving from a wide-array of businesses, restaurants and residents from Middleton to Meteghan!”
Auction prizes include: a Bay Ferries Crossing; Bluenose 2 sailing excursion; overnights at hotels, resorts, cottages and B&B’s from Cape Breton to Claire; experiences, such as wine tasting, a Digby Basin sail, golf passes to six outstanding golf courses, farm tours, nursery plantings, hikes, a kayak outing, a pasta party; and gift cards to wonderful restaurants and businesses from Middleton to Meteghan.
Tickets are on sale now until April 19th. Tickets can be purchased by visiting Scotiabank branch offices in Digby, Annapolis and Bridgetown, by calling 902-532-8148 or by email to btreestables@gmail.com.
Fundy Hospice will be located on 6.63 acres in Cornwallis Park on property donated by the Annapolis Basin Conference Centre. Cornwallis Park is a central location that will keep the commute by most patient families to within 30 minutes from most communities in the two counties.
The new residential hospice will become the first such facility in Southwest Nova Scotia once it is placed into operation.
